ADDITIONAL INFO:

All FLM apprenticeship programmes follow a mandatory framework structure as outlined below:

Competence Based Element – NVQ Diploma

NVQ Diplomas are based on the national occupational standards that describe the level of performance expected of anyone working in the industry or sector that the NVQ Diploma covers.

All NVQ Diplomas are competence based and are linked to the individual’s ability to competently perform a range of tasks in the workplace.

Apprentices plan a programme of development with their FLM assessor and complete a portfolio of evidence to prove they are knowledgeable and competent in their work role. The evidence produced for the portfolio can include; observation of performance, written assignments and case studies, professional discussion, questioning, witness testimony, and accreditation of prior learning.

Functional Skills

The Functional Skills training will develop the practical Maths and English skills needed for the workplace. All of our apprentices take an initial assessment at the start of their training which will identify the level of support needed to achieve these qualifications.

Technical Certificate

The technical certificate provides the underpinning knowledge for the NVQ Diploma that learners will be assessed against in the workplace. There are a range of different technical certificates for each apprenticeship programme.

Industry Qualifications

Industry related qualifications provide learners with an enhanced package of qualifications that cover many of the occupational standards required for the NVQ Diploma. Often referred to as Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs), industry qualifications are stand-alone modules that are nationally recognised within their relevant sector.

Funding

The Skills Funding Agency is a co-financed organisation and as such ourselves and our partners are obliged to meet specific conditions within our respective contracts.

The Agency is an ESF Co-Financing Organisation (CFO) delivering a programme of activity inclusive of ‘workplace learning and Apprenticeship’; to be able to drawdown the ESF funds for projects, the Agency needs to be able to fund an equal amount of similar activity from its other budgets: this is known as ‘match funding’.

“Therefore, the programme of learning you may embark would be part funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund and is co-financed through the Skills Funding Agency.”

What our partners say…..

As a result of our Partnership with FLM Training I have a multi-skilled, motivated and highly qualified workforce, this helps us maintain the high standards we have set and helps us maintain our position as the main Health & Fitness provider in St Helens”

Jim Flatley – Manager – St Helens Council

“We have worked directly with Dave and his team for over 4 years. During this time we have built a strong partnership which has enabled the delivery of an extremely high standard of learning, development and attainment for many of our Leisure staff. Importantly this has produced ‘real’ results in the workplace. The team has always been visible across facilities and corporate buildings, along with providing regular management information to ensure progress is monitored and supported. Their approach has been significant to this success, as it has always been customer-focused and delivered in context of our organisational requirements.”

Thomas Barton – Head of HR & Organisational Development – Everybody Sport & Recreation
