Executive Support Modern Apprentice working in the Chief Executive’s Office

National Minimum Wage Temporary for 12 months

The Executive Support Team are looking for a Modern Apprentice to join their team supporting the Chief Executive and Directors.  As the apprentice in the team you will receive training whilst undertaking general clerical and administrative tasks.

The tasks will include assisting with meeting arrangements, diary management, travel arrangements, meeting and greeting visitors, the provision of refreshments, maintaining stationery supplies and preparing documents, presentations and spreadsheets.

The role will provide the opportunity to gain experience of IT packages such as Microsoft Office, develop customer service skills, gain an understanding of the Council and work towards a business administration or secretarial qualification.

As part of the team you will have regular contact with Council officers at all levels, Councillors, members of the public and external organisations.

For this role you will have excellent literacy and numeracy skills, excellent IT skills, preferably  in the use of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the ability to deal with enquiries either face to face, over the telephone or in writing.  In addition you will need to be punctual and have regular attendance, whilst being adaptable and flexible to the needs of the service in your working hours and at different locations.
